Stormageddon

This winter has been the wettest since I've lived here.  We are of course coming out of severe drought from the last 6 years-so this is what most people say is a 'normal' winter.  Kerry and Kristen live in Guerneville which sits right on the Russian River.  They have been flooded in or out of their property at least twice now.  During the first big storm in January they actually drove their RV to our house and stayed for a week.  It was sooooo much fun having them their.  We were like a little compound, cooking, cleaning and borrowing food from each other. The weekend after Park City we celebrated Kristen's 30th birthday.  Kerry went above and beyond to surprise her with friends and family members from across the states.  The final party was a surprise 80s themed party at Big Bottom Market one night. I made cupcakes and helped Kerry with the decor. We of course dressed up and had a blast! The girls had their first official sleepover with t...

Park City

The week after New Years we packed up and headed to Park City, UT to meet up with my two best friends from High School and their families.  We were fortunate enough to get a great deal on a rental condo from a friend of mine.  The sleeping arrangements weren't ideal for 5 kids under 5 (yes, 5 kids under 5!) but we made the best of it.   Two of the three of us had cancelled flights but Alaskan ended up booking us direct with Delta so it ended up fine.  Shannon and crew got super delayed until that evening. The Yosts picked us up from the Airport Thursday afternoon and we headed to the condo-it was super foggy and snowing but we had sun the rest of the weekend!   We unpacked and then headed downtown for a bite to eat.  We went to a cute little BBQ joint and the kids were surprisingly well behaved after traveling all day. The next morning the boys went skiing so us girls tackled all the kiddos in ski gear and headed out to explore.  I...

Ringing in the New Year

We kept the Holiday celebrations going after Christmas, why not, right?!  Janet came into town so the girls had yet another 'Christmas'.  They got tons of cute games and really cute mermaid blankets Rollie and I got to sneak out to a nice dinner at our favorite steakhouse, Starks. I treated myself to a solo shopping trip to Corte Madera for a new winter jacket :) The girls rocked their New Years Eve pajamas from Aunt Lisa while making fresh cinnamon rolls one morning. We met the Downer's in Yountville for an incredible meal at Bistro Jeanty.  They gifted us the coolest handmade clock and the girls got matching Uggs.  We all gained 10 pounds and will work to get it off for all of 2017!

Christmas Weekend

Christmas Eve we had soccer and then went home to make cookies for Santa.  That evening we headed to Walnut Court (Snowman Lane) for more lights with Kristen and Kerry. The girls were so excited Christmas night...but Santa still had lots of wrapping to do and toys to put together :) We woke up just the 4 of us and tried to open gifts slowly but once the first one went they were just too excited!  We lounged and played and then Kristen and Kerry came over in the afternoon for round 2!  They got the Lily a soccer net and ball and Piper got a Beauty and The Beast tea cart :) We made a delicious dinner together.  Prime Rib Roast, scalloped potatoes and green beans.  I had whipped up an apple crisp earlier in the week too.  We went through some awesome bottles of wine as well.  The next day we just lounged around playing with new toys.
