Week in Review...way late!

We are back from vacation, so lots of blog catch up to do. (sorry for the bad quality pics...I figured out the problem but not changing it for this post...)

Last Monday the Smit's came over for dinner.  Slaiden and Lily played while us adults went through some super tasty wine and food.  We played 'wine battleship'...basically randomly picking a letter and number associated with our wine closet to see what bottle was up next.

Tuesday morning was Reese's 1st birthday.  I still can't believe that people in Lily's playgroup are already turning one.  Cameron did an amazing job on Reese's birthday.  Her cake and sweets table was so pretty.  Sarah, another friend from playgroup made Reese's ombre cake.  After playgroup Lily and I headed to the Dr. for her 9 month check up.  She's super healthy and the nurses and Dr. got quiet a kick out of her.  She was 17 lbs on the dot and 26.5 inches.  After the Dr. we walked Spring Lake with my friend Sally from Duckhorn.  Busy day!

Wednesday morning we had our weekly walk/jog with Jack and Melissa.  Then we met Micaela/Ensley, Lyndsay/Eli for lunch at Chloe's.   Lily also thinks its hilarious now that she can sit up in her crib after waking up from a nap.  Wednesday night was book club at Cellars of Sonoma.  Love our book club happy hours.  Wednesday night I came home to finish packing for our early flight on Thursday morning.  Janet (Rollie's mom) came to visit/house sit/watch Rufus while we left for Chicago.

Thursday morning was a bit brutal, waking up at 3am for our 6:20am flight.  Why do I do this?!

In the thick of it

Hopefully monthly blogging won't become a habit.  Life has just been crazy.  April was a big blur. We host a bi annual pick up party at work and for the months of April and October I'm pretty much a working like mad or exhausted from working like mad.  Then it took a week to feel normal again! I'm also working split days at the moment (off on Sunday/Tuesday) and its really not fun.  I can't truly enjoy a weekend and its really hard to decompose on Sundays knowing that I have to work the next day.  Hopefully I only 2 more months of it until Piper can start at Lily's preschool/daycare. Rollie was a rock-star Dad as always, taking care of not only the girls but me too.  I know there were days that I was grumpy and not myself.  They did come to visit me one day during the craziness and that helped! Lily is wonderful 90% of the time and a threenager the other 10%.  It's absolutely amazing what a 3.5 year old absorbs and their tiny little imaginatio...

21 Weeks

21 weeks Cooking time: 21 weeks, 1 day Weight gain: +4...I'm thinking from here on out it will probably be 1 pound a week since it was slow to come on in the beggining.  I think this is the ONLY time in my life that I've been called small by several people that know how far along I am.  I've struggled with weight since college, so maybe this is god's kind way of saying...you won't be one of those people who put on 50-60 pounds during pregnancy. Maternity clothes: oh yeah...I LOVE my grey maxi skirt from Target, I think I'll go grab the black one tonight :) Food cravings: red meat still...had a nice burger for lunch today and chocolate...I indulged in a bit too much Easter candy Food dislikes: frozen peas are the only thing I've found so far Missing: Sleeping through the night and beer...I've really been craving a nice cold beer latley and the non-alcholic stuff is crap so its not even worth the calories. My latest read...

I have lots to blog about, Chicago, Michigan, our recent weekend in San Fran...but this comes first.  Last week I was doing my usual 'before bedtime Facebook scan', and I came across a post from a High School friend.  Maggie had posted an article about Natalie Taylors new memoir, 'Signs of Life'.  I knew it was going to be released  this Winter/Spring but it had slipped my mind.  I immediately went onto Amazon and ordered it.  I got the book Thursday and I'll be done tonight (I have 2 more chapters to go).  I'm not a fast reader.  Rollie can back me up on this one.  I got about 6 books for Christmas and I've only finished one so far, and I'm in the middle of two others.  Rollie would have had all of them finished and probably would have bought a few more by now.
