Not sure if it was the first rain we've had since April, the fact that she only took one nap yesterday or her first time in a Velcro swaddle but this little nugget slept through the night! From 10:30-6...let's hope this is a new trend!
We had a great double date last night. We've been meaning to go to Petite Syrah for sometime now...our friends Meg and Adam frequent it often. So we met up after work and grubbed down. We all started with yummy fingerling potatoes with crispy parsley and an orange aioli...yum! Rollie and I then both had the hanger steak (surprise I wanted red meat!) and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We usually don't get dessert too often but they had some unique things on the menu so we opted for the deconstructed smore. It wasn't great. It looked pretty but I would definitely not pay $8 for it again....but it worked for my 'ice cream' pic of the day. It had both chocolate and oatmeal ice cream.
Hopefully monthly blogging won't become a habit. Life has just been crazy. April was a big blur. We host a bi annual pick up party at work and for the months of April and October I'm pretty much a working like mad or exhausted from working like mad. Then it took a week to feel normal again! I'm also working split days at the moment (off on Sunday/Tuesday) and its really not fun. I can't truly enjoy a weekend and its really hard to decompose on Sundays knowing that I have to work the next day. Hopefully I only 2 more months of it until Piper can start at Lily's preschool/daycare. Rollie was a rock-star Dad as always, taking care of not only the girls but me too. I know there were days that I was grumpy and not myself. They did come to visit me one day during the craziness and that helped! Lily is wonderful 90% of the time and a threenager the other 10%. It's absolutely amazing what a 3.5 year old absorbs and their tiny little imaginatio...
OMG how is it almost October!? Well clearly 'busy' is an understatement. We had an amazingly fun summer. I think it was the first time we actually just let go of schedules, routines, diets (ha!) and just had a lot of fun late nights with friends. I'll just bullet point a few highlights. The girls both had their 'last days of school' on June 2nd (although they stayed at the same preschool all summer). We watched the Kliegl girls on Mondays and Micaela returned the favor on Tuesdays (saving us both in childcare and letting the girls play) and often times Ariya came to play during the little ones nap. Rollie extended our deck and put in a patio below. It looks so great and opens up our vineyard view even more! Lily graduated from Preschool!!! We went camping with 16 adults and 10 kids...separate post :) Lots of swim lessons, slowly but surely Lily is coming around. We went on an amazing vacation to South Lake Tahoe, Clovis & Yosemite...another separa...
you are so dang lucky!!!!
