My amazing family had a motherhood celebration for my on Friday night down at my Aunt's House in Laguna.  It wasn't a shower but more a celebration of pregnancy and motherhood :)  I'll post more details in another post.  But the party of course included cake...cupcakes to be exact!  My favorite!

Being on vacation I wasn't completely on top of this one...I actually thought today's pic was supposed to be balloons...oops!  So instead of an actual postcard I'll use a picture that I took that could be a postcard :)

I was strolling through the airport on Tuesday night wondering what to eat for dinner before I caught my flight to Laguna.  I walked into Chili's, grabbed a seat and started reading my "Girlfriends guide to Pregnancy" on my kindle.  I thought about a salad, sandwich or chips and salsa...but then I saw this...yep a chocolate lava cake with ice cream.  So that's what I ate for dinner...well half of it!

18 weeks strolling the strand in front of the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach Cooking time:  17 weeks, 6 days Weight gain:  Not sure...I've been out of town so I haven't weighed myself.  I'm guessing a couple pounds because I think its safe to the belly has popped!  Maternity clothes:  yep!  Tried wearing my non maternity white jeans while on vacation with the hair tie trick but that was a stretch.  I bought a great pair of black maternity jeggings from H&M mama line while down in Orange County this week. Food cravings:  Red meat, fruit, and sweets Food dislikes:  nothing Missing:  sleeping through the night...I now get up twice to pee instead of once :( What we've been up to:  Busy busy busy!  Rollie got back from Vegas last Sunday and I saw him for a day in a half and then I left for Laguna on Tuesday night and just got back early this morning.  I had a great time with my family (more on that on a later post...

I'm heading down to Laguna to spend 3 days with my Aunts/Uncles, Grandma, Mom, and Cousins...I can't wait! I feel like I've been looking forward to this mini trip forever.  My mom is one of the most thoughtful people I know and she planned a motherhood party for me...not a shower but more of a celebration of becoming pregnant.  Knowing how creative she is and her attention to detail it should be amazing!  Besides that I plan on sitting in the sun, taking walks on the beach and just plain old relaxing.  I'll probably be a bit behind on posting my picture of the day, I'm not sure I'll be able to upload anything while I'm down there but I have green (from yesterday), indulgence, flowers, postcard, cake and ballon to look forward too :)

Cooking time:  17 weeks today Weight gain:  +1, I've definitely noticed more of a 'bump' this week, especially at night. I'm pretty fortunate to work at a stunning winery so I could have snapped away for this one, but there is one thing that stands out right now at our property and its definitely the blossoming plum tree out front.

This one also could have been a bit better.  I ran to Safeway at lunch today and snapped a few pictures on my way back of this beautiful old bridge in Saint Helena....too bad my angle wasn't the best...too many trees in the way!  Kind of a neat different view though.

I knew what I wanted to snap for this day but timing didn't work out so great.  There is this great open field on my drive to work and there are always about a dozen horses playing in the morning time.  I brought my camera on Friday and started snapping away and then sadly realized my memory card was in my laptop at home.  I attempted to take some with my Iphone but they were too far away it weren't turning out, so I brought my camera the following day but it was pouring rain.  I still got some decent shots but I'll have to go back when its nicer weather.

I have a really bad habit...I read several books at once, but then that often leads to not finishing one or more of them.  I was getting better but now with all of these pregnancy reference books I'm back to my old tricks.  Currently I'm reading: The House of Mondavi (couple chapters left), Skinny Bitch-Bun in the Oven, and The Wine Bible...and those are just actual books...on my kindle I'm skimming through The Mayo Clinics Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy and The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy...geez that was tiring!  Hoping to finish House of Mondavi this week and then I'l focus on the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy because its hilarious (thanks Kerry for the recommendation!)

I put this one of until last night when we were all laying on the couch relaxing, but as I was petting Rufus and his head was on my belly (which it often is now...he must know that something is growing in there!) I snapped this pic and it worked for today's post.

I was a little nervous about finding some clouds yesterday because on my way to work yesterday it was bright and sunny without a cloud in the sky, but luckily on my way home there were a few puffs in the sky.

I had a pretty cute outfit on yesterday but after a long day at work I wasn't up for taking a whole body pic...so I opted for just my shoes :)  I love these new flats from Old Navy...they have no support so not the best for work but great for a casual day off.

Spring has sprung around here...but in reality we never really got winter.  We've had week after week of 60-70 degree beautiful sunny days...no complaints here, just a big change from the cold rainy winter last year.  The flowers are blooming, the vines are budding, and the birds are chirping.  There was definitely no way I could just post one picture today to represent spring.  Knowing my 'assignment' for the day I actually made an effort to bring my camera to work, so here are a few outdoor shots to show the great season we are in...cherry/plum tree blossoms, mustard fields, grapvines, flowers, etc!  To top it off Rollie bought me a trader joes flower arrangement today so I made 3 smaller arrangements around the house :) Tree's that look like snow in front of Trefethen winery These are even more amazing in the fall...bright oranges and reds Mustard cover crop on my drive home Flowers in front of Castello Di Amorosa (the castle winery) bouq...

Excuse the Iphone picture...Saturdays tend to be exhausting for me and by the time I get home I have no energy so I'm cheating a bit and this is a picture from a few weeks ago.  The 'word/pic' of the day was Diva and nothing describes Diva more than our dog Rufus...yep a male boston terrier.  He thinks its perfectly normal to have our king size bed to himself, he won't go outside if its below 40 degrees or raining, he loves sunbathing, he's picky about what tablescrapes he's given and he has the most expressive facial expressions that I've ever seen I dog give...but he is the most loveable, cuddly, loyal dog we could have ever asked for!  Love you Rufus :)

This one was tough because I could have picked many things to photograph.  On my way to work this morning I was thinking about how much I do   love  my job...I work at a beautiful winery in Napa Valley, I get to hang out with a great team at work, and I talk to customers about wine all day...yep, not too bad.  Sure there are some cons, I work almost every Holiday, every Saturday and Sunday (unless I take a vacation day) , I have 50 miles round trip commute, and I come across some entitled rich a-holes who think the world revolves around them...but  90% of the time its pretty darn good...oh and I have great benefits and make decent money for what I do.  On my way home from work I thought about how much I  love  where we live (we being my husband and doggie whom I also  love  so much).  Never in a million years would I have imagined that we would own a house (that I  love ) in 'wine country' that actually backs up to 2 ...

Not loving the idea for today's 'photo of the day'.  The only thing I could come up with is the hat that hangs on our antique coat rack (which I do love)...Rollie's step mom gave it to us.  It holds Rollie's antique golf clubs, a picture of a vineyard, this hat that I found for $1 at a thrift store and a candle holder.  The little corner in our house does look great...thanks mom and Sara :)

4 Months!  Almost half way there, crazy to believe. Cooking time:  15 weeks, 5 days Weight gain:  +1 I weighed myself fully clothed and after I ate breakfast (still making excuses even pregnant) Maternity clothes:  Still living in yoga pants, leggings and my old jeans (with bella band).  I ordered some white skinny maternity jeans, white linen maternity shorts, and some jean bermuda maternity shorts for Hawaii! Food cravings:  Still going with the red meat craze. Food dislikes:  Nothing yet. Missing:  sleeping through the night and just feeling normal.  This past week I just plain old haven't felt great, maybe I'm fighting a cold or something but I've had bad headaches, tummy aches and the tiredness is back a bit.  The best way to describe it is a hungover feeling, but clearly that's not the reason :) What we've been up to:  Not much, which is nice!  Rollie painted our master bathroom and it looks gr...

There were many things I wanted to snap today to represent 'smile'...I thought of Rufus, the empty 3rd bedroom that's awaiting some major decor changes, my hubby, all the cherry blossoms I saw on my walk, the cheeseburger I had for lunch...but then I came across this at target... yep a fuzzy Yoda Easter basket. I wasn't sure whether to buy it for my husband or future baby 'w' so I resisted all together but I have a feeling Rollie might make me go back and get it!
