Surprise Birthday Party

Image
Last week I traveled home to celebrate a little pre Thanksgiving/birthday/family time.  Flying solo with a walking running 15 month old was not easy, not to mention I was recovering from the flu! She was great for the flight out there but it didn't matter, she did not want to sit still for more than 15 minutes at a time.  But we made it there safely and once there Grandma took care of us. My brother and I visited my Dad and picked out a really nice headstone...it wasn't an easy thing to do but we really bonded over doing it and its nice to know we have a place to visit him. I finally got to join the girls for Cranbrook Holiday tables which put us all in the Holiday Spirit. We had a great week but the highlight was definitely my Grandma's surprise 80th birthday.  My mom, aunt, and uncle had been planning it for months and it went off without a hitch.  My Grandma was very surprised and so appreciative. I'm so thankful that I got to be with my family if not on Than

Holiday Bucket List

I saw a super cute idea on one of the blogs I read, Little Baby Garvin .  She's doing the 25 days of Christmas Bucket List.  I changed mine slightly from hers but here it is: 25. Make Christmas cookies. 24. Buy a real Christmas tree & stash vases of fresh trimmings all around the house. 23. Send Christmas cards & find a way to display all the ones we receive *I've been wanting to find a new way to display for a couple years now. 22. Buy a new red nailpolish. 21. Hang a string of colored lights somewhere unexpected in the house. Around your chalkboard, in the bathroom or even in your closet. 20. Watch Elf & make paper snowflakes. 19. Donate toys to a local charity. 18. Make holiday garland. 17. Take silly pictures in our reindeer antlers 16. Make fireplace/stove s'mores & listen to Christmas music. 15. Buy a new ornament for 2013. 14. Play the Christmas Vacation movie drinking game . 13. DIY Christmas gifts for family. 12. Have a date night, ma

Little person

I really feel like in the last week Lily has turned from a baby to a toddler.  She is just so entertaining to watch these days.  Between the mimicking, new vocabulary, little strut/run, and full personality its amazing.  We had our amazing friend Jean Claire take our family pictures last Sunday.  We started off at our house so we could get a few shots with Rufus.  Then we headed out around the neighborhood to some vineyards, train tracks and ended up back at home for some more shots in the front yard.  I'm so happy with how they turned out. Picture Overload and don't be shocked when one of these shows up on our Christmas Card.
