24 Weeks...6 months!

Image
Clearly haven't mastered the mirror self photo Cooking time:  24 weeks Weight gain:  +8 pounds...well I've gained 3 pounds in 10 days...lets hope this isn't a new trend. Maternity clothes:  Same...dresses, leggings, and maternity jeans. Food cravings: Still red meat, fruit and salty snacks.  I had a craving for chicken kebabs today so we grilled some up for dinner :)  Found some new non alcoholic drinks while wine tasting with friends.  Wine Country soda...pinot noir and chardonnay juice, its carbonated and not too sweet...my new summer favorite. Food dislikes:  Nothing Missing:  Nothing much, pretty great week...still peeing twice a night but I'm pretty used to that by now. What we've been up to: Last week Ray, Tanya and Kerington came to visit.  We had a great 3 days with them; wine tasting, playing with Rufus and Kerington, hanging on the deck and just catching up with great friends.  Rollie painted the nursery ceiling today and I planted some

4.26 Eyes

Image
We've had the pleasure of this little heart warmer staying with us for the last few days...I just can't take enough pictures of her!  Love it...look at those big brown eyes.

4.22 Passion

Image
If I had to pick one thing I'm passionate about it would probably be traveling.  I'm constantly thinking about the 'next' trip.  I love everything from searching for the cheapest flights to researching great new restaurants and sites to see.  We're heading to Maui 14 days, and then down to LA at the beginning of June...but after that I know there won't be any trips in the near future but I'm thinking it will be worth it!  So here is a look back at the last few trips over the last 12 months. San Fran Giants Game-April 2011 Chicago-April 2011 Michigan (home)- April 2011 Laguna, CA-March 2011 Solvang,CA-August 2011 Phoenix, AZ (Fiesta Bowl)-January 2012 Laguna, CA-March 2012

4.25 Daily Routine

Image
I'd say that 6 out of 7 days a week I put makeup on...my routine probably takes me less than 5 minutes.  I'm a bare minerals kind of girl...so powder, concealer, bronzer, eye shadow & mascara...oh and don't forget the chapstick :)  I love my vanity area though...I got this desk for free on craigslist a couple years ago and it fits perfectly along a wall in our bedroom not taking up too much space.

4.24 After Dark

Image
Our great friends Ray and Tanya (along with their adorable 15 month old, Kerrington) are here to visit from LA.  Last night after their arrival we settled in, made dinner, caught up with some great conversation and of course drank a little bit of wine...well the 3 of them did :( 2007 Keenan Cabernet, 2008 Three Palms Merlot, 2009 Migration Split Rail Chardonnay, 1997 Duckhorn Howell Mountain Merlot

4.21 Favorite Place

Image
Favorite place...these days its in bed with these two boys!

4.20 Bubbles

Image
Since I'm of course not drinking real bubbles (beer, champagne, wine, etc).  I've found some new bubbles to keep me company for the next few months...and if I put it in a wine glass I feel like I can join in the party!  Sparkling lemonade and blood orange juice from trader joes :)

23 Weeks

Image
Cooking time: 23 weeks, 1 day  Weight gain: +5 pounds as of Dr. appointment on Thursday.  I asked my Dr. if I was gaining too little weight but she assured me that I'm just fine.  She said even if I lose weight but the baby measures on track that's fine too... but from here on out I'll probably gain a pound a week.  My belly sure does look like I've gained more than 5 pounds so maybe its possible that I've lost in other places and baby girl is growing just fine.  I think of 6 months pregnant (I'm a week shy) as HUGE...but everyone is different...and I'm not complaining at all, especially since Maui is in just over 2 weeks and I thought by then I would be uncomfortable. Maternity clothes: Still the same...dresses and skirts mostly.  It was a beautiful 80+ and sunny all weekend so it was really nice to wear some flowy dresses. Food cravings: Pretty much the same...add kids size peanut butter perfection from coldstone to the list! Food dislikes:

Home Improvements

Image
Its been baby posts and pic of the day posts for the last few months...but our home improvements definitely have not been on hold, I've just done a bad job of documenting them. We had a bit of a impromptu mailbox makeover today.  We've slowly been working on the front yard by ripping out existing plants and shrubs and replacing our overgrown weed patches with fresh mulch.  Eventually we need to have our sprinkler system checked out so we can plant some grass seed or sod (hopefully before the baby comes!). Back to the mailbox...our mailbox was a rotting/leaning mess.  In our neighborhood you have to have your mailbox out at the street...otherwise we would just attach one to our house.  We thought we could revamp our existing mailbox with some spray paint but after we took it down we realized it was probably going to be easier to buy a new one.  We also knew we wanted to place it in a used half wine barrel.  Luckily right down the street from us a man sells them for $18.  Ste

4.19 Peaceful

Image
Hands down one of the reasons we bought this house was our view.  We back up to several acres of our neighbors personal vineyard...it doesn't get much more peaceful than that!

4.18 Blue

Image
Our guest room was one of the first completed rooms in our house...the only thing we still need in there are some curtains but its a really odd window.  Anyways, I knew I wanted to go bold with the wall color (which is hard for me to do...I like beige!)  We decided on English Channel and LOVE it.  My something blue...

4.17 Sensual

Image
Whip cream...come on, we all think of the scene from Varsity Blues!

4.16 Travel

Image
Last night we traveled down to San Fran for the Giants game as a company outing.  Another reason I love my job!  We had VIP access to Triples Alley (on field during batting practice...unlimited food and drinks) for two hours prior to the game and then amazing seats for the game.  Our company also provided bus transpiration so no need to worry about driving and parking!  On the way down we crossed over the beautiful Golden Gate...it never gets old!

4.15 Inspiration

Image
Can I take a picture of pintrest? Seriously that's what motivates and inspires me these days to cook, clean, organize, put some thought into what I wear, paint my nails, decorate, photograph, work out...I could go on and on.  But on a more sentimental level and with motherhood creeping up on me, I have to say that my mother inspires me.  She was and still is an amazing mother.  I've come across very few people in my life that put other people before themselves and that is without a doubt my mom.  I can only inspire to be as great of a mom that she is.  Love you mom! Taken last month down in Laguna

4.9 Long Exposure

Image
I took these back in March 2010 in Sausalito...looking over the bay into San Fran.

4.14 Landscape

Image
I'm cheating again.  I've fallen way behind with pictures this week and in order to get back on track starting tomorrow ( Its always nice to start fresh on a Monday) I figure I'll gather up some old shots to finish out the last few days.  This was taken this past fall when one of best friends Stephanie and her husband Mike came to visit us.  We were at one of my favorite wineries, Pride Mountain.

4.13 Summer

Image
Well this week hasn't seemed much like summer until yesterday...we are finally getting spring weather and the rain seems to be gone.  We planted 3 azalea plants a couple of months ago and they starting blooming this week!  We THINK we planted 2 purple on each side and a white one in the middle...the 3rd one hasn't bloomed yet....crossing our fingers :)

22 Weeks down...18 to go

Image
Cooking time: 22 weeks Weight gain: +4 pounds... at this point I think my scale is broken because my belly is growing.  Dr. appointment on Thursday so the truth may come out. Maternity clothes: yep.  Loving my 2 new maxi skirts from Target, those will be my staple from here on out.  I wouldn't mind getting a couple cute dresser items for dinners out in Hawaii, so I'll be browsing online this week. Food cravings: I figure its time to get a bit more specific on this.  Cheeseburgers (meat and cheese only) from In-N-Out with well done french fries-I have this once a week, chocolate of any kind (I was loving the cookies and cream Hershey Easter eggs and mini cadbury eggs...but those are now gone so I've moved onto whatever is around or Safeway brand light churned mint chip ice cream, apples and plums...although I had a hankering for mandrian oranges (in the can last week so I grabbed some of those at the grocery store), Sour Cream and Cheddar Ruffles...so yes you can see why

4.11 Dinner

Image
Last night we had dinner with our friends Jared, Alicia and their 23 month old cutie Kaylie.  I forgot to take a picture of my hot wings (yep we went to Hooters) but I did snap a great shot of Rollie and Kaylie...I think he's ready for a little girl of his own :)

4.10 What makes me smile

Image
I've already done one similar to this but luckily I can come up with a few things these days that make me smile!  Right now its the nursery.  It doesn't look like much these days but in a month or so it will.  We still need to, take down the wallpaper (or possibly paint over it), paint, install closet organizers, install window treatments, buy a crib, reupholster rocking chair, paint dresser, and buy wall art & accessories...there is way more than that but those are the big projects.  But for now this still makes me smile...

4.7 Sunset

Image
Sunsets are by far one of my favorite things to photograph.  Unfortunately its been rainy and overcast all week, therefore no good sunset pictures.  So I'm cheating and taking one from our honeymoon.  I love this picture...it was taken just outside of our room in Antigua...and with our old point and shoot camera.

4.8 Something Old

Image
A few years ago (maybe 3) I was at my Grandma's house and she offered me to go through some old jewlery...ummmm yes please!  I was never much into gold until then either.  I came across this beautiful gold and pearl long chain necklace (I love it because it can be doubled up or worn long...which was my Great Grandmothers) and this other gold pendant/chain/charm.  I probably wear these together atleast 4 days a week now.  I've gotten countless comments on them, and best of all they remind me of my family.

4.6 Trees

Image
Ok. so technically these are not trees, they are vines but I couldn't resist pulling over the other day to snap a few shots of the sprinklers watering the vines.

21 Weeks

Image
21 weeks Cooking time: 21 weeks, 1 day Weight gain: +4...I'm thinking from here on out it will probably be 1 pound a week since it was slow to come on in the beggining.  I think this is the ONLY time in my life that I've been called small by several people that know how far along I am.  I've struggled with weight since college, so maybe this is god's kind way of saying...you won't be one of those people who put on 50-60 pounds during pregnancy. Maternity clothes: oh yeah...I LOVE my grey maxi skirt from Target, I think I'll go grab the black one tonight :) Food cravings: red meat still...had a nice burger for lunch today and chocolate...I indulged in a bit too much Easter candy Food dislikes: frozen peas are the only thing I've found so far Missing: Sleeping through the night and beer...I've really been craving a nice cold beer latley and the non-alcholic stuff is crap so its not even worth the calories. What we've been up to: On Saturday

4.5 Distant

Image
On my way to work last week I noticed a hot air ballon off in the distance.  This isn't a rare occasion around these parts but I actually had my camera with me (not just my Iphone).  I was in a hurry to get to work so these are not the best pictures in the world but it works for this concept.

Half way there...20 weeks!

Image
Cooking time:  20 weeks, 4 days Weight gain:  +3 pounds... surprisingly not more after the massive dinner we had with our friends Paul and Stacey from LA last Friday night...crab stuffed hash browns, 4 cheese oodles of noodles (love the name), sauteed mushrooms, mashed potatoes and a petite filet with 3 jumbo shrimp...I was so uncomfortable afterwards but it was totally worth it, although I have no idea how anything will fit in my belly a couple months from now. Maternity clothes:  full on maternity pants and leggings...got a really cute maxi skirt (non maternity) at Target yesterday that will be perfect all spring/summer Food cravings:  Red meat, fruit, and sweets Food dislikes: frozen peas, we usually have them at least once a week but they are not doing it for me right now. Missing:  sleeping through the night and energy.  It was a really long week at work but I just had 2 very relaxing days off...and I work Friday and Saturday and then actually have Easter off with Rollie so lookin
