A couple years ago a started a 'bucket list' if you will, as cheesy as it may sound I think the movie, Bucket List prompted this. I've had this ratty piece of notebook paper folded up in my wallet since then and for some reason I thought about it today. I got inspired again and thought I should make this list more concrete by making it a blog entry. I'm also hoping that by sharing my list with friends and family (the few of you who read this) it will inspire me to make more of these dreams become a reality. It was supposed to be 100 things but its a work in progress at 61. I've been lucky enough to have accomplished a handful over the last 24 months (give or take a few months). For now I'll make a side note with the date for those dreams I've reached, and going forward I will make a new entry. Here goes: 1. Finish SCUBA certification 2. Dive in the Great Barrier Reef 3. Practice yoga in its native form and country 4. Treat my parents to a wonderful

Well, the first day of my new career hopefully began yesterday, I started classes! It's going to be amazing. I'm taking Basic Black and White Photography (with a 35 mm camera) and Introduction to Digital/Photo-shop. Its going to be very interesting switching back and forth between the two, but I thought if I was going to take this seriously I needed to go back to the basics and learn Basic Photography over again too. It sounds like I won't have any assignments for the first few weeks, but I'll be sure to post as soon as I do. The sun came out today for the first time in what seems like weeks, well probably since my last post! I took Rufus for a nice long walk this morning, and brought my camera along...here are a few...

Rain, Rain, Go Away

I know we really need this rain, but it hasn't stopped in days and its supposed to continue through the weekend! Yikes. Well, I have a lot to look forward to in the next week. On Wednesday I'm headed to San Fran to visit my good friend Genny who is there with her boyfriend Curt for a work function, I haven't seen her since the move so I'm very excited. I'll wake up Thursday morning and head to Sac Airport to get my Aunt who is here for the weekend!! And lastly, I start photography classes next Tuesday! So regardless of the rain, I'm in a pretty great mood today. So here is a picture of another thing that makes me happy, Rufus, his first birthday was last week.

Sun!

Today was the fist day we had sunshine in weeks and Rollie and I were both off work, so we drove up to Paradise (yes Paradise, CA) to this really cool lookout point and took a few great pics.

Its been a while since I took advantage of my other hobby, scrap-booking. Now that I have a little free time I've been digging into again over the past few days. I finally finished one from our first trip together to Cozumel, Mexico...only three years later! I'm also trying out some greeting cards for family, I just finished this one.

Reflection

New Years is a time to reflect on the past years events. 2009 unfortunately began with the loss of a very close friend, Ben Chandler. Not a day goes by that Rollie and I don't think about him and his family. We had to accept that everything happens for a reason and that he is now in a better place. The year and wedding planning had to go on, so between January and March that's exactly what happened. Between invitations, photographers, color schemes, flowers, cake flavors, appetizers, honeymoon plans, registries, and I could go on and on, we (yes we, Rollie was the perfect fiance/co-planner) loved every second of it. When March 14th, 2009 came everything was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Our friends and families came together for an amazing celebration. The next day we were off to Antigua, B.V.I. for ten days of R&R. After coming home it was back to reality of day to day activities as well as knowing I was going to be laid off at anytime
