Rose Bowl/NYE weekend

Life is finally starting to slow down a bit.  Last Sunday we left for Los Angeles to spend time with friends for the new year and watch Stanford play in the Rose Bowl.  Lily was great during the car ride...a little too good, sleeping for 5 out of the 7 hours and then not wanting to sleep that night!

We arrived Sunday evening and headed over to Brian and Lisa Thompson's for dinner and a great visit, until Rollie got sick...out of nowhere he thought he got food poisoning form something he ate on the drive down, but later we found out that when we left LA everyone had the 24 hours stomach flu so he might have had that.

Monday we headed into Manhattan Beach for breakfast and a walk on the strand even though Rollie was still under the weather.  Our good friend Tanya met us for our walk...we LOVE it up here in Northern California but I do miss the Southern California ocean views!

Monday afternoon we hung out at Dina's where we were staying and got ready for New Years Eve while we visited with our friend Jody too  We spent New Years Eve with our great friends Todd & Kerry (and their daughters Madison-3.5 and Libby-15 months) and Ray & Tanya (and their daughter Kerington-2)...all little girls!  We enjoyed catching up with some great wine and yummy dinner...we had a champagne toast at 9pm-east coast countdown!

Tuesday morning we woke up bright and early to head to the Rose Bowl.  We met up with our Stanford crew to tailgate for a few hours before Rollie headed into the game, while Lily and I headed back to Dina's to relax and visit with our friend Allyson.  Stanford won!

Wednesday we packed up and headed downtown to see my good friend Jamie in her new showroom in the fashion mart, and she got to meet Lily for the first time.  Then we trekked back home just in time to get Rufus from doggie daycare.

It's always much too short of a trip when down there and so hard to fit in visits with all of our great friends & family.  We will be back in April and hoping to make a week long vacation out of it.

Arriving at Dina's
